PrefazioneQuesto testo nasce dalla esperienza consolidata negli anni degli autori nello studio della patologia articolare della spalla, che parte dallo studio radiologico convenzionale per approdare alle metodiche di imaging più sofisticate precisando le modalità di impiego e le indicazioni della ecografia, della TC, della RM e della artro-RM.Si è cercato di descrivere in maniera sintetica ma quanto più completa possibile i differenti quadri patologici inerenti alle differenti metodiche, dividendoli nei due grandi capitoli della patologia muscolo-tendinea, sia da impingement che post-traumatica, e da instabilità, che spesso sono tuttavia correlate fra di loro ed interdipendenti.Il testo è corredato di un’ampia iconografia esplicativa e speriamo quanto più possibile chiara e facilmente fruibile, pur nella complessità anatomica e funzionale di una articolazione come la spalla.Si è ritenuto inoltre opportuno dedicare dei capitoli a parte alla studio ecografico, alla patologia legata alla rigidità di spalla da capsulite adesiva ed allo studio post-operatorio della spalla, richiedendo quest’ultimo una adeguata conoscenza delle differenti tecniche chirurgiche, e del loro riscontro in termini di imaging.Vorremmo ringraziare tutti coloro che hanno contribuito alla realizzazione di questo testo, frutto della collaborazione di un gruppo radiologico che da sempre ha collaborato in maniera sinergica allo sviluppo delle conoscenze nell’ambito della radiologia muscolo-scheletrica.Buona lettura.
