Diagnosi prenatale delle osteopatologie fetali. Testo atlante

Aniello Di Meglio

editore: ELI-Edizioni Librarie Int.

pagine: 730

Dario Paladini, Paolo Volpe

editore: E.L.I. Medica

pagine: 312

Medicina periconcezionale

Gian Carlo Di Renzo, Irene Giardina

editore: Minerva Medica

pagine: 384

Development of Normal Fetal Movements

The last 15 weeks of gestation

Alessandra Piontelli

editore: Springer Verlag

pagine: 145

In the later stages of gestation, fetal functions undergo increasing change and development, preparing the fetus for the transition to its postnatal environment. Rapid maturation is witnessed in breathing, swallowing, sensory functions, sleep, and many other processes, with corresponding behavioral changes. By 35 to 40 weeks of gestation, fetuses are capable of living ex utero without support, but it is increasingly appreciated that even infants born at between 35 and 36 weeks can suffer long-term consequences. This book, which complements the author's previous volume on development of normal fetal movements during the first 25 weeks of gestation, discusses in detail the full range of behavioral phenomena observed during the final 15 weeks of gestation, with careful analysis of their mutual relationships. A key feature is the outstanding photographic material, difficult to obtain at this late stage, and the instructive graphs that are also included. The information provided will alert clinicians to deviations from the norm and to physiologic phenomena that can turn pathologic in infants born prematurely.

Inborn Errors of Metabolism

From Neonatal Screening to Metabolic Pathways

Brendan Lee, Fernando Scaglia

editore: Oxford University Press Inc

pagine: 384

Texts on inborn errors of metabolism (IEMs) have traditionally focused on classical biochemistry, clinical presentation, and standard treatment approaches. Inborn Errors of Metabolism is an expansion on this model, one that establishes an innovative pathway approach and provides a new authority on this family of disease. Alongside the standard cadre of molecular and clinical underpinnings, this volume includes coverage of newborn screenings and an overarching treatment of IEMs as complex diseases - how basic alterations can lead to complex secondary and tertiary effects in metabolism that contribute to increasingly recognized natural histories of disease.

Ultrasound of Congenital Fetal Anomalies

Differential Diagnosis and Prognostic Indicators

Dario Paladini, Paolo Volpe

editore: CRC Press Inc

pagine: 515

The most frequently asked questions that confront the fetal medicine trainee/expert on a daily basis are "Is the finding real or merely an artifact?" and "Is the diagnosis correct?". However, to be able to find the description of an abnormal ultrasound finding in a textbook, one generally has to search by the definite diagnosis, which has not been done as yet. This uneasy feeling was the first factor that directed the layout of Ultrasound of Congenital Fetal Anomalies: Differential Diagnosis and Prognostic Indicators, Second Edition. Copiously illustrated, the book displays fetal anomalies by scanning view and descriptions of all major ultrasound planes, detailing what can be considered a normal view and what cannot. See What's New in the Second Edition: * Early detection of fetal anomalies (1214 weeks) * Ultrasound in fetal infections and in twins * The nuchal translucency issue, the newest intracranial translucency as well as the range of congenital anomalies detectable at this gestational age * Expanded coverage of heart anomalies, including arrhythmias and early fetal echocardiography The author's mission continues to be to provide guidance on how to quickly recognize and diagnose congenital fetal anomalies, beginning at the beginning with ultrasound sigh all the way through to final diagnosis.

Fetal Monitoring Interpretation

Michael G. Ross, Micki L. Cabaniss

editore: Lippincott Williams & Wilkins

pagine: 500

Thoroughly updated for its Second Edition, "Fetal Monitoring Interpretation" describes and illustrates the full range of patterns revealed by fetal monitoring and explains their clinical significance. This book uses case studies and high-quality tracings accompanied by detailed teaching diagrams usually found only in anatomical and surgical atlases. This edition includes twenty new case illustrations with teaching diagrams and five added tracings that present rare and unique patterns. The text incorporates the changes in terminology recommended by the 2008 workshop jointly sponsored by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Five new sections have been added: Pattern Transitions - Emphasizing the dynamic process of bedside assessment of the fetus, this section focuses on changes occurring over time, influenced by factors such as maternal health, pre-existing fetal health, gestation, and medications/anesthesia; Antepartum Monitoring - The first edition focused on intrapartum monitoring. The second edition presents a new section on the unique interpretation in the antepartum setting; Patterns Associated with Disease States and Other Conditions - For the first time, a section is included that begins with a maternal or fetal condition or the fetal environment and addresses potential fetal heart rate patterns that might be associated; and, Technology Behind Fetal Monitoring and Adjuncts to Fetal Assessment - This new section reviews adjunctive methods of fetal assessment that might improve on the monitor heart rate data in inconclusive situations. It also includes Medico-Legal Considerations: This section examines the role of the monitor in predicting or retrospectively assisting with the analysis of adverse neonatal outcomes and the future of the monitor in obstetrics.
