The new fifth edition of the Oxford Handbook of Urology is a comprehensive and concise handbook encompassing the whole of urology in an easily digestible format with the most current and up-to-date guidelines and recommendations. Essentially, it also covers the basics of patient assessment, investigation, and important basic science, helpful not only to urology doctors taking the FRCS exam, but also a useful tool particularly for medical students, general surgeons, A&E doctors, GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals. It provides bite-sized topics covering every part of the urology curriculum and is valuable as a quick reference during clinical duties in clinics, theatre, A&E, on call, and as a reference text for revision.New to this Edition:
Updated according to new National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), European Association of Urology (EAU) and American Association of Urology (AUA) guidelines
Complete review and revision of cancer topics which have radically changed with new recommendations
Covers urological controversies published in the press, in order to guide doctors' consultations with patients that include the use of mesh for urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and the risks of anticholinergic medications long-term for patients with an overactive bladder
Viaggio nella urologia funzionale. L'intuizione e l'interpretazione in azione. Casi clinici paradigmatici ed emblematici
Roberto Carone
editore: Minerva Medica
pagine: 90

editore: Springer-Verlag Berlin and Heidelberg GmbH & Co. K
pagine: 385
Urology at a Glance is a concise, practical guide to diagnostic and therapeutic decision making. The book is divided into two parts. The first focuses on the pathway from symptom to diagnosis and covers the full range of symptoms commonly encountered by the urologist. Any particular symptom can be located within a matter of seconds and in each case differential diagnosis is explained with the aid of a flow chart. The second part of the book is devoted to the pathway from diagnosis to therapy, with each short chapter devoted to a specific diagnosis. Basic information is provided on the disease in question, along with an outline of state of the art treatment options and possible complications. Again, flow charts are used to help the reader to reach the correct therapeutic decision in different circumstances. Numerous high-definition photographs and illustrations are also included. This book will be a great asset for urologists and practitioners in related disciplines.
