Prefazione alla terza edizione Questa nuova edizione esce con molte modifiche e aggiornamenti, ma rimane indirizzata principalmente ai principianti, dai veterinari neo-laureati, agli studenti, infermieri e tecnici veterinari. Continua infatti a essere una introduzione di facile lettura all’elettrocardiografia.Essa include anche un’utile spiegazione degli aspetti clinici di ogni aritmia, di come il ritmo puo presentarsi all’auscultazione e di quando si può verificare deficit di polso.Per quest’edizione, ho chiesto anche ad alcuni amici e colleghi nel mondo della cardiologia di fornirmi consigli, suggerimenti e note.Tutti questi sono stati inclusi in quest’edizione e per questo vi chiedo di leggere i ringraziamenti.Qualcuno potrebbe chiedere, quali sono i cambiamenti? Il flusso generale del libro rimane inalterato, ma alcuni capitoli sono stati suddivisi per migliorarne la comprensione e la lettura. Ci sono capitoli aggiuntivi sul monitoraggio Holter e uno sui meccanismi delle tachicardie sopraventricolari, che rappresentano un nuovo sviluppo delle nostre conoscenze, incluso il loro trattamento (l’ablazione). Ci sono sezioni aggiuntive dedicate alle pause compensatorie, i complessi da fusione e il fenomeno di Ashman. La sezione dedicata al ritmo idio-ventricolare accelerato e stata incrementata, trattandosi di un’aritmia sempre piu frequentemente diagnosticata.Infine, il libro e ora a colori e questo mi auguro consenta una lettura piu piacevole. Tutti i tracciati ECG sono nuovi e riprodotti a colori. I disegni sono ora piacevolmente illustrati a colori, cosa che aumenta la loro comprensibilita.I continui riscontri positivi e la richiesta di una terza edizione mi hanno stimolato a questo. Grazie!
