TCMD del piccolo intestino in urgenza ed in elezione

Roberto Di Mizio, Mariano Scaglione

editore: Verduci

pagine: 110

Virtual Colonoscopy

A Practical Guide

editore: Springer-Verlag Berlin and Heidelberg GmbH & Co. K

pagine: 265

Rapid progress in the technique and practice of virtual colonoscopy as well as the conti- ing clinical high interest for this radiodiagnostic procedure made this second edition, only 3 years after the publication of the ? rst edition of this successful volume, necessary. This new edition includes the latest study results and technical developments of this exciting noninvasive diagnostic modality for the evaluation of the colon. The technical presentation and lay out of the text and of the many new illustrations are impeccable. The editors were again able to ensure the collaboration of many international leaders in the ? eld and the book offers a very comprehensive overview of all aspects and issues of CT colonography with a focus on how to perform practically this examination, which requires meticulous technique starting from rigorous preparation, then the conduct of the study itself, and ? nally the interpretation of the results. I am very much indebted to the editors and the collaborating authors for preparing this outstanding volume in a record short time period, which enabled them to include the latest technical advances in this rapidly evolving important radiological method. It is highly recommended to general and gastrointestinal radiologists as well as gast- eneterologists as a most welcome update of their knowledge and as a practical guide in their daily practice. I am convinced that this second edition will meet the same success with our readership as the ? rst one.

Medical Imaging

An Illustrated Colour Text

Peter Renton (Deceased)

editore: Churchill Livingstone

pagine: 144

This illustrated colour text brings radiology alive for medical students as a meaningful specialty with a central role in the diagnosis and/or treatment of many patients. Rather than attempting to teach the reader to be a would-be radiologist, it will give readers a feel for what radiological test to order in various circumstances, what the clinician needs to know to get the best out of the radiology department, how to read and interpret the resultant radiology reports and what interventional radiology has to offer from the point of view of either obtaining a diagnosis or treatment.

Gastrointestinal Radiology

A Pattern Approach

Ronald L. Eisenberg

editore: Lippincott Williams and Wilkins

pagine: 1356

Unique among all medical texts on the subject, this volume provides a direct, stepwise approach to the differential diagnosis of abnormal findings on gastrointestinal radiographs. This singular book promptly gives physicians in training and in practice the information they need to reach the best clinical diagnosis. Each of the book's 80 chapters shows a specific radiographic pattern, lists every disease entity it could possibly be, and helps the reader confirm, refine, or reject differential diagnoses. Using a "pattern approach," individual chapters focus on specific radiologic abnormal appearances rather than disease entities and outline the typical signs, symptoms, and predisposing factors for the abnormality. This edition features hundreds of new images and a new section on MRI of the liver.

Normal and Abnormal Swallowing

Imaging in Diagnosis and Therapy

Bronwyn Jones

editore: Springer-Verlag New York Inc.

pagine: 305

It is now 11 years since the publication of the first edition of Normal and Abnormal Swallowing: Imaging in Diagnosis and Therapy. These 11 years have seen an enormous change in the specialty of the study of dysphagia. First, we have seen the tragic loss of two of the pioneering giants in the field: Wylie J. Dodds, MD, of the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and Martin W. Donner, MD, of The lohns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, a former coeditor of this book. Second, there has been a steady expansion in the number of professionals interested in and working in this spe- cialty. The last 11 years have also seen the steady growth of the multidiscipli- nary journal Dysphagia, devoted to swallowing and its disorders, as well as the formation of the Dysphagia Research Society, which held its tenth annual meeting in October 2001. The dysphagia special interest division (SID 13) of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) now has some 3,000 members. At the same time, the world population is aging. Dysphagia will be an important health issue in this aging population.
