L'idea di raccogliere in un testo i principali quadri clinici otoneurologici è nata dal desiderio di offrire ai Colleghi, non solo Otoiatri, Oculisti, Neurologi, Neurochirurghi, la possibilità di una facile consultazione di queste forme cliniche che col trascorre del tempo hanno richiamato un interesse sempre più vasto. Infatti, molte delle manifestazioni otoneurologiche rappresentano una parte di rilievo del corredo sintomatologico di numerose malattie a carattere generale la cui valutazione diagnostica richiede un contributo pluridisciplinare. A brevi note sull'anatomia e fisiologia del Sistema vestibolare, segue la descrizione delle caratteristiche semeiologiche delle lesioni otoneurologiche e delle indagini cliniche che vengono eseguite sul paziente per una corretta valutazione diagnostica. Nel secondo e terzo Capitolo sono descritti i principali quadri clinici otoneurologici d'origine periferica e centrale. La numerosa casistica, corredata da referti elettronistagmografici e neuroradiologici appartiene al Servizio di Otoneurologia della Clinica ORL di Padova, che ho diretto per oltre trent'anni.
