Il manuale “Pediatria Pratica” è nato nel 1975, rivolto agli studenti di Medicina. A quasi 50 anni di distanza siamo arrivati alla XI edizione con un testo completamente rinnovato rispetto alla precedente edizione, peraltro uscita solo nel 2020. Siamo passati a 80 dai 40 capitoli precedenti, quasi la metà dei vecchi argomenti sono stati affidati a nuovi autori. Si tratterà anche di comunicazione, deontologia, ricerca, responsabilità medico legale, cure primarie, rete degli ospedali pediatrici, infermieri, terzo settore, farmacologia, medicine complementari e storia della Pediatria. Gran parte del volume è dedicata alla Pediatria specialistica con capitoli d’organo ampiamente rinnovati. Cinque capitoli sono dedicati all’adolescente. Infine un significato particolare ha il capitolo 0, un messaggio di speranza in tempi difficili: Malattia come opportunità?, scritto da Giuseppe Masera.
