The technology involved in performing minimally invasive surgery concerns not only instrumentation but also anesthetic management, for example, the use of transesophageal echocardiography and radiological interventions in the operating suite for the stenting of the aorta. This latest volume in the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists Monograph series addresses the anesthesiologist's changing role in dealing with patients undergoing these newer, unconventional surgical operations.
