The books, written in a popular Q and A format, will provide sufficient information for a primary care doctor to be able to understand and treat patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis. RA affects about 1 per cent of adults, and a GP can expect to see at least one new case every year or so. It is more common among women (3x the incidence compared to men) and usually occurs when the patient is 35-45 years. "The YQA on RA" will provide authoritative and up-to-date information for family doctors, their patients and carers, in a field that is changing rapidly in light of the new drugs that have come onto the market. As for all YQAs, presentation and readability are important - this will follow the style in that respect.
