Questo testo è l’evoluzione delle tre precedenti pubblicazioni del Libro Italiano di Cure Palliative, ma esce come Manuale di medicina e cure palliative per segnare un momento di cambiamento e innovazione. Il testo mantiene una continuità, con l’inclusione di molti dei precedenti collaboratori, tra curatori delle sezioni e autori dei capitoli, ma si avvale di una revisione dei contenuti e degli argomenti, tentando di essere completo per le aspettative e i bisogni dei clinici dedicati alla medicina e alle cure palliative. Il nuovo volume è a cura dei professori Augusto Caraceni e Marco Maltoni, che si riconfermano dalla precedente pubblicazione, e di due nuovi editors, dottori Raffaella Antonione e Simone Veronese.Il libro è anche un tentativo di offrire un riferimento culturale generale, un conciso e aggiornato vademecum che sia di utilità per molti: per gli studenti delle Scuole di Specializzazione in Medicina e Cure Palliative; per il giovane palliativista che inizia la professione; per l’esperto che incontra una situazione, un caso o un’evenienza clinica, a lui o a lei meno noto per una prima valutazione, da approfondire poi; per lo studente di medicina o di infermieristica più curioso e interessato. High-risk acute myeloblastic leukemia (HR AML) is charac­terized by unfavorable biologic and clinical features impairing the efficacy of conventional treatments resulting in less than 40% short-term complete remission (CR) rate and poor median overall survival (OS).
