Retaining its trademark concise, easy-to-understand writing style, consistent format, and clinical approach, the Fifth Edition is enhanced by a revised organization, new images and in-book learning tools, new content that reflects today's practice environment, and a revised art and design program designed to meet the needs of today's highly visual students.
Pierfrancesco Fusco , Franco Marinangeli
editore: Edra
pagine: 256

Lung Ultrasound in the Critically III
The Blue Protocol
Daniel A. Lichtenstein
editore: Springer International Publishing AG
pagine: 376
Written by a pioneer in critical care ultrasound, this book discusses the basic technique and "signatures" of lung ultrasound and explains its main clinical applications. The tools and clinical uses of the BLUE protocol, which allows diagnosis of most cases of acute respiratory failure, are first described in detail. Careful attention is then devoted to protocols derived from the BLUE protocol - the FALLS protocol for diagnosis and management of acute circulatory failure, the Pink protocol for use in ARDS, and the SESAME protocol for use in cardiac arrest - and to the LUCI-FLR program, a means of answering clinical questions while reducing radiation exposure. Finally, the book discusses all the possible settings in which lung ultrasound can be used, discipline by discipline and condition by condition. Lung Ultrasound in the Critically Ill comprehensively explains how ultrasound can become the stethoscope of modern medicine. It is a superb complement to the author's previous book, Whole Body Ultrasonography in the Critically Ill.

Ultrasound has revolutionized the practice of regional anesthesia, yet there remains a paucity of good resources on ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia in children. This book offers a much-needed practical guide to all the major ultrasound-guided blocks in pediatric patients, including neuraxial, truncal, upper and lower limb blocks. The core principles of good clinical practice in regional anesthesia are described and discussed, including the pharmacology of local anesthetics in children, the performance of regional anesthesia, the management of complications, and the clinical anatomy of each block. Every block chapter provides both a 'how to' section and also a comprehensive literature review, with an up-to-date and relevant bibliography for reference and further reading. Chapters are illustrated with unique anatomical images and detailed descriptions. Both trainee and experienced anesthesiologists will find this an essential resource for the safe and effective performance of modern regional anesthesia in children.

Eco-color doppler. Applicazione clinica
Applicazione clinica
Myron A. Pozniak , Paul L. Allan
editore: Edra Masson
pagine: 380

editore: Editeam
pagine: 212
